Anubrata Bhowmick

Welcome to my world!

I am Anubrata Bhowmick, a Research Scientist(AI) and an Entrepreneur. My day to day is working as an AI Research Scientist at Quest Medical Imaging, in the intersection of Deep Learning, Clinical Informatics, and Hyperspectral Medical Imaging. Previously, I was a Management Trainee at Philips, working at MCC and Philips Research as a Data and AI Scientist. I graduated from University of Twente with Master of Science in Computer Science with Data Science specialization. Before that, I completed my B.Tech. in Information Technology at Bengal Institute of Technology, followed by a full-time Systems Engineer job at Tata Consultancy Services.

Apart from my day job, I am also doing a second masters in Financial Engineering, and I am also working on a stealth real estate startup. More details will be revealed in due time. Please contact me if you want to know more, or be a part of something exciting.

• I have started MSc in Financial Engineering at WorldQuant University.
• Mar 1: I have joined Quest Medical Imaging as a Research Scientist(medior)
• Feb 28: I am leaving my position at Philips to take on a new challenge.
• July 12-15: I have presented my paper at ISSI 2021 (slides, video) at the conference on my paper, Augmenting context-aware citation recommendations with citation and co-authorship history.

Interests

I have several interests, ranging from business to science. I love working on business cases, translating them from vague ideas to strategic plans, with clear goals. I also love researching on topics related to Medical Science, especially Neuroscience, translating requirements to research plans, and finally leading them to successful projects.

As a part of my hobby, I typically work with the Deep Learning problems, drawing on tools and perspectives from algorithmic thinking, computational complexity, and analytic philosophy. I value research that concentrates on providing new understanding, and tend to get excited by simple but foundational questions.

Personal

I'm a huge fan of football(Arsenal FC), games(FIFA, Far Cry, Elden Ring), and music(I mostly listen to progressive and rock metal).

I am an advocate of a few specific causes: space exploration, financial literacy, and improving the diversity, quality, and accessibility of education and healthcare.
